New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara ran into NFL history at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara made NFL history on Sunday against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Kamara caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tyler Shough, which gave the Saints a 17-10 lead in the third quarter. The play pushed Kamara past the 5,000-yard career receiving mark, making him just the sixth player in NFL history to record at least 5,000 career rushing yards and 5,000 career receiving yards.
He joins Christian McCaffrey, Tiki Barber, and Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk, Marcus Allen, and Lenny Moore in achieving the milestone. Clark Dalton writes that despite this feat, Kamara still faces an uphill climb to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Dalton notes Kamara lacks a first-team All-Pro selection and has never rushed for 1,000 yards in a single season.
