Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on a Barcelona teenager, who is already establishing himself in the Catalan giants’ first team. Spurs chose against replacing Djed…

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both reportedly monitoring Barcelona defender Xavi Espart ahead of potential moves. The 19-year-old La Masia graduate has started seven games for Barcelona this season under Hansi Flick, registering one goal and two assists. Both North London clubs have compiled detailed scouting reports on the versatile defender, who is also drawing interest from Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, and Juventus.
While Espart is under contract at Camp Nou until 2030 with a €100m release clause, Barcelona could reportedly consider a permanent transfer for around €40m to €50m (£34m-£42m). Tottenham could target the right-back in January to provide cover for Pedro Porro, potentially allowing Archie Gray to return to his preferred midfield role.
