The Story in 60 Seconds

Scott Boland struck twice in consecutive deliveries to leave South Africa struggling at 20 for 2 on a rain-affected opening day of the second Test in Gqeberha. Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl, but persistent rain limited the day's action to just 12.2 overs before play was officially abandoned at 4:15 pm.

Boland entered the attack after an early rain interruption, clean bowling Aiden Markram before immediately removing David Bedingham with an edge behind. Boland replaced specialist spinner Nathan Lyon in Australia's lineup, while South Africa handed a debut to opening batter Marques Ackerman and welcomed back fast bowler Kagiso Rabada.
