Little Ronnie was diagnosed with with a rare blood condition just days before his first birthday

A toddler named Ronnie has received a life-saving stem cell transplant following a widespread Merseyside appeal supported by Everton and Liverpool fans. His mother, Laura, launched the Register4Ronnie campaign alongside blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan, which attracted around 1,000 new donor applicants. After doctors initially doubted a match would be found, a 10-out-of-10 match was identified from an American donor in his 20s.
Ronnie underwent the procedure on August 4 and was discharged on September 4 wearing his Everton kit. He has made strong progress and reached 100 percent donor cells, though he remains in isolation until next year to guard against infection.
