India off-spinner Niki Prasad set a world record on Sunday, October 18, by taking two wickets off the first two deliveries of her T20I career against Zimbabwe in Raipur. Introduced in the 15th over by captain Smriti Mandhana, Prasad dismissed Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano and Nyasha Gwanzura on consecutive balls, finishing with bowling figures of 2 for 7.
Prasad became the first Indian cricketer and the third player globally to achieve the milestone, joining Australia's Michael Kasprowicz and USA's Akshatha Rao. Her spell helped restrict Zimbabwe to 102 runs, allowing India to secure a nine-wicket victory in 8.5 overs and take a 2-0 series lead.
