The Story in 60 Seconds

Former UFC fighter Muhammad Mokaev stated on social media that UFC parent company TKO and broadcast partner Paramount, rather than CEO Dana White, are responsible for recent fighter departures. His comments followed the promotion's decision not to offer new contracts to Farid Basharat and Michael Page despite their winning records.

Mokaev rejected White's postfight remarks at UFC Edmonton implying that matchmaking difficulties lead to fighters not being re-signed. Mokaev completed his own promotional contract with a win over Manel Kape in July 2024 before the UFC opted not to extend his deal.
