Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was placed on injured reserve after a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in a superficial blood clot in his left calf. Sports medicine specialist Dr. Brian Sutterer warned that Hurts could miss the rest of the season if placed on blood thinners, which typically precludes contact sports participation.
Hurts originally suffered the injury against the Los Angeles Rams before playing against Jacksonville. With Hurts sidelined for at least four games, Tanner McKee will start against the Carolina Panthers for the 2-3 Eagles.
