This is one hell of an Eagles defense. For three quarters. Then it isn’t anymore. The Eagles’ defense is allowing just 13.2 points per game going into the fourth quarter. That’s dominating football. Keep up that pace for one more quarter…

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered another fourth-quarter defensive collapse during their 25-14 defeat to the Carolina Panthers. Writer Reuben Frank notes that while Philadelphia's defense has allowed just 13.2 points per game through three quarters this season, it has surrendered 58 fourth-quarter points, accounting for 42 percent of its total points allowed. Across three consecutive losses to the Rams, Jaguars, and Panthers, the unit has conceded 38 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Contributing factors include offensive struggles that have forced the defense onto the field for an average of 34 minutes and 41 seconds per game during a four-game losing streak. Defensive players Cooper DeJean, Zack Baun, and Jordan Davis, alongside head coach Nick Sirianni, acknowledged issues with fatigue, missed execution, lack of late takeaways, and an inability by the offense to sustain second-half drives.
