Xabi Alonso has been thrown a curveball by the Premier League ahead of the festive period.

The Premier League has rescheduled four of Chelsea's fixtures during the December festive period to accommodate European competitions. Under manager Xabi Alonso, the Blues will host Crystal Palace on December 2 and Liverpool on December 5, both at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will then travel to face Manchester City on December 12 before hosting Aston Villa on December 21.
The Aston Villa match could potentially shift to December 19 depending on Carabao Cup progression. Alonso acknowledged the demanding schedule without a winter break, noting that his squad has already started preparing for the congested run of games.
