The latest update on 49ers rookie De'Zhaun Stribling doesn't bode well for the rest of his 2026 season.

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling is reportedly facing an extended absence, with his return projected for Week 12 at the earliest. Stribling has been sidelined since Week 1 due to a deltoid ligament sprain in his ankle and is reportedly still unable to walk on the injured foot according to NBC's Jennifer Leechan.
Writer Zane Gelphman argues that the 49ers may need to view Stribling's rookie campaign as a wash regarding major offensive contributions. Due to his extended recovery time and lack of chemistry with quarterback Brock Purdy, Gelphman suggests Stribling will likely fill only a complementary role behind veterans Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel.
