McCann stressed new signing Mantl has a fight for the goalkeeper’s jersey after Ferrie delivered a big performance in Saturday’s win over Motherwell.
Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann has warned new goalkeeper Nico Mantl that he faces a fight for the starting spot following Calum Ferrie's standout display in a 3-2 victory against Motherwell. Mantl, who recently signed following an injury to Max Stryjek, watched from the bench as Ferrie produced several crucial saves to help lift Kilmarnock off the bottom of the William Hill Premiership.
Kilmarnock secured the win through a Greg Kiltie brace and a Tyreece John-Jules goal, while Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson lamented his side's second-half defending as they suffered their fifth consecutive defeat.
