Ferdinand insists Arsenal star ‘hammered’ by critics deserves pay rise after Nott’m Forest win

Rio Ferdinand argued that Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa deserves a wage increase following his match-winning defensive display against Nottingham Forest. Speaking on Rio Presents, Ferdinand praised Konsa's crucial late block against Liam Delap, claiming the performance answered critics who questioned his summer move. Arsenal secured a narrow win at the Emirates via a deflected strike from substitute Noni Madueke.

Manager Mikel Arteta echoed Ferdinand's praise, stating the victory would not have been possible without Konsa and Gabriel managing heavy aerial pressure. Konsa, who signed from Aston Villa for £51 million, was instrumental in keeping Arsenal within three points of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
