Orioles Name New GM After Disappointing 2026 Season

The Baltimore Orioles have hired Jared Banner as their new general manager following a disappointing 2026 season where the club missed the playoffs. Banner will collaborate with President of Baseball Operations Mike Elias, who previously held the GM role. In his new position, Banner will focus on player development, coaching, and performance, allowing Elias to shift focus toward broader strategy and roster construction.

Banner brings 18 years of front-office experience to Baltimore, most recently serving three seasons as assistant general manager for the Chicago Cubs. He previously spent 11 seasons with the Boston Red Sox, earning three World Series titles, and worked three years with the New York Mets.
