The Detroit Lions need a boost at linebacker considering injury and inconsistency, and rookie Jimmy Rolder could soon provide it.

SideLion Report argues that Detroit Lions rookie linebacker Jimmy Rolder should see a major increase in playing time following season-ending injury troubles at the position. With offseason addition Devin White sidelined for the year due to a forearm injury, the Lions require additional depth and athleticism in the middle of their defense as they prepare to face the Green Bay Packers.
Writer Max DeMara notes that Rolder missed crucial development time during training camp due to injury but has recently contributed five tackles. Lions linebackers coach Shaun Dion Hamilton is actively working to ease Rolder into defensive packages as Detroit seeks more consistent playmaking alongside Jack Campbell, Derrick Barnes, Trevor Nowaske, and Malcolm Rodriguez.
