The St. Louis Blues troubles are beginning to mount in the beginning of the 2026-27 season. After a better start than recent years, this team has really cooled

Bleedin' Blue writer Justin Bonhard analyzes early struggles for the St. Louis Blues in the 2026-27 season following a 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. The defeat left the Blues with a 1-4-0 record against Central Division opponents and an overall 3-4-1 standing. Bonhard argues that head coach Jim Montgomery could find himself on the hot seat with General Manager Alexander Steen if the team falters against Winnipeg on October 20.
Bonhard also highlights the offensive partnership of Mason McTavish and Connor McMichael, who have provided vital speed and scoring. In other league notes, Robert Thomas showed mixed progress, the Philadelphia Flyers secured a 3-1 victory against Ottawa, and Connor McDavid posted 23 points in eight games for Edmonton.
