The Atlanta Hawks will try to pick up where they left off last season when they travel to Orlando for the season opener Wednesday, while the Magic are looking for a fresh start under a new coach.
The Orlando Magic will host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday for their season opener, marking their first game under new head coach Sean Sweeney. Sweeney replaces Jamahl Mosley following Orlando's first-round playoff collapse against Detroit last season. Meanwhile, the Hawks look to carry over strong momentum after finishing last season atop the Southeastern Division.
Atlanta swept Orlando in four meetings last season and enters the year led by All-Star Jalen Johnson, alongside Nickeil Alexander-Walker and veteran CJ McCollum. Orlando's core features Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, with center Nikola Vucevic returning to the franchise on a one-year free-agent contract.
