Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov expressed that he felt "disgusted" and disappointed after head coach Marco Sturm made him a healthy scratch for a 4-1 road win against the Los Angeles Kings. Sturm decided to bench the veteran following consecutive penalties taken in a prior matchup against the Anaheim Ducks.
Sturm emphasized that while Zadorov remains a tremendous player and leader, he needs to show better discipline on the ice. Zadorov attributed his penalties to high emotional investment, acknowledging that he must move on and handle the situation professionally.
