Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell addressed the team's offensive line uncertainty ahead of Week 7, specifically surrounding the center position. Starting center Cade Mays is expected to return from injury, creating a decision regarding Juice Scruggs, who has performed well in relief. Campbell expressed concern regarding Mays's stamina to play a full game while noting hesitation about rotating players at center.
Campbell indicated that Scruggs could eventually shift to guard or serve as an extra lineman once Mays is fully integrated. However, the team intends to keep Scruggs prepared at backup center in the short term. Once Mays is settled, Scruggs is expected to compete with Christian Mahogany for playing time at guard.
