This would save Liverpool so much money.
Zak Anderton of Anfield Watch argues that Liverpool could already possess their own alternative to transfer target Adam Wharton in young forward Lewis Koumas. Club legend Robbie Fowler revealed on the We'll Have A Look Podcast that Koumas originally played as a controlling central midfielder during his youth with Wirral Schoolboys before transitioning into an attacking role.
While Koumas has broken through as an attacker this season, Anderton suggests the 21-year-old's pressing ability and midfield background offer an intriguing fallback option. However, the writer concedes that returning to central midfield in the Premier League remains unlikely given the tactical adjustments required.
