The Seattle Mariners continue to prove their ability to find hidden gems, with one prospect in particular standing out in the minors as an extra-base machine.

Sodo Mojo's Paul Taylor highlights Seattle Mariners prospect Hunter Fitz-Gerald as a potential breakout player drawing parallels to major leaguer Dominic Canzone. Baseball America's Geoff Pontes praised the 25-year-old minor leaguer for his elite contact quality, pointing out his 115.4 mph maximum exit velocity, high barrel rate, and a 54% hard-hit rate during the 2026 campaign.
Playing at Double-A Arkansas, Fitz-Gerald hit 29 home runs and tied for the minor league lead with 69 extra-base hits across 133 games. Taylor argues that Fitz-Gerald could potentially contribute to Seattle's designated hitter rotation as soon as 2027.
