The Charlotte Hornets have officially locked down their offensive centerpiece for the foreseeable future. After the LaMelo Ball experiment, the team is officially committing to forward Brandon Miller with a massive five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension.
The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension with forward Brandon Miller. Brokered by representatives AJ Vaynerchuk and Joey Middleton of VaynerSports, the agreement establishes the 23-year-old as the franchise's cornerstone. The landmark deal was completed ahead of the NBA's rookie-scale extension deadline on October 19.
Miller averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists during the 2025-26 season while leading Charlotte to a 44-38 record and a play-in tournament appearance. The long-term commitment follows Charlotte's offseason blockbuster trade that sent former franchise point guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid and draft assets.
