Fleming was appointed England’s new Test coach in July and will begin work with the team on their tour of South Africa in December. He said developing English coaches would be one of the priorities of his tenure.

Incoming Test coach Stephen Fleming believes England should ultimately be coached by an Englishman, stating that developing domestic coaches will be a major priority of his tenure. Appointed in July to succeed Brendon McCullum in the Test format, the New Zealander will officially start his role during England's upcoming tour of South Africa in December.
Fleming's coaching staff features notable English figures, including Marcus Trescothick, James Foster, and Richard Dawson, with Jonathan Trott managing the England Lions. Fleming also plans to involve county coaches and former players directly into the national setup while scouting county cricket ahead of the home Ashes series.
