Indian para archers Sheetal Devi and Swati Chaudhary advanced to the finals of their respective events at the Asian Para Games 2026 on Tuesday, securing at least silver medals for India. Defending champion Sheetal beat Japan's Shinohara Aya 145-137 in the women's compound semifinal to set up a gold-medal match against Singapore's Alim Nur Syahidah on October 22. Debutant Swati defeated South Korea's Lee Eunhee 6-2 in the women's W1 semifinal to reach the final against China's Mengkan.
Sheetal also broke the world record earlier in the competition by scoring 149 against Hong Kong's Chan Yuen Wah. India achieved further success by qualifying for the semifinals in both recurve and compound mixed team events, though competitors Harvinder Singh, Bhawna, and Toman Kumar were eliminated from individual gold contention.
