Cristiano Ronaldo has received a 30-day suspension and a €255 fine from the Portuguese Football Federation following a camp walkout. The sanction came after a reported disagreement with coach Jorge Jesus during Portugal's Nations League campaign. Ronaldo had admitted to the charges in a formal statement, which alongside his clean disciplinary record helped reduce the severity of the sanction.
The rift began after Ronaldo was left on the bench during a 2-1 win against Norway on September 27. The 41-year-old subsequently walked out before a match against Denmark. Because the suspension was backdated to October 1, Ronaldo is expected to be eligible to return for Portugal's next fixture against Denmark on November 14.
