Commentator Derek Rae took to social media to explain the methods behind his densely packed preparation sheet after a picture of his notes went viral online. The Scottish broadcaster, who provides commentary for EA Sports FC alongside networks including ESPN and Amazon Prime Video, prepared the single-page document ahead of Real Madrid's LaLiga match against Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Rae stated on X (formerly Twitter) that the handwritten sheet is meant solely for his own preparation, noting that writing helps him retain information better than digital copying. He explained that limiting his notes to a single page helps navigate cramped broadcast booths, emphasizing that this tailored method has worked effectively for him across more than 40 years of broadcasting.
