Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews praised teammate Gavin McKenna following the team's 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Monday, October 19. Matthews noted that McKenna is not shy of the moment, highlighting his ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities in high-pressure situations.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Maple Leafs, with Matthews, McKenna, and Nick Paul scoring the team's goals. Matthews also commended McKenna's resilience, pointing out that previous adversity—such as being benched following John Tavares' injury against the Buffalo Sabres—did not affect his performance.
