Fans of the La Liga side are set to jet out to Glasgow in record numbers

Celta Vigo supporters have set a modern club record by purchasing 3,000 tickets for their Europa League league-phase fixture against Celtic in Glasgow. Both clubs enter the match looking for their first points of the campaign following two consecutive defeats, yet the Spanish side will be backed by their largest travelling European crowd in decades.
The 3,000-strong away support exceeds the 2,500 fans Celta Vigo took to Old Trafford in 2017 and 2,900 in Lyon last season. Club director of infrastructure Carlos Cao described the fixture as a very special match for the supporters, making it the club's largest away European contingent since facing Aberdeen in 1971.
