LaMelo Ball is passing his way into Wolves’ hearts, and they’re banking on it

LaMelo Ball has quickly established himself with the Minnesota Timberwolves through an intentional pass-first approach following his trade from the Charlotte Hornets. Timberwolves president Tim Connelly reshaped the roster by trading Julius Randle and Naz Reid to acquire the 25-year-old playmaker. Head coach Chris Finch and teammates have praised Ball's positive energy, while Ball dished out 23 assists compared to 27 shot attempts across four preseason games.

The Timberwolves are banking on Ball's playmaking to alleviate offensive pressure from star shooting guard Anthony Edwards, who formed an immediate bond with his new backcourt partner. Ball's pick-and-roll partnership with center Rudy Gobert is expected to serve as a cornerstone for Minnesota as they seek postseason contention.
