Mike Tomlin’s Cowboys Connections Make Him Worth a Call

Inside The Star writer Cody Warren argues that the Dallas Cowboys should consider contacting former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. Warren highlights shared organizational connections, including past Dallas coaches Monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli, under whom Tomlin coached in Tampa Bay. Cowboys executive Stephen Jones previously praised Tomlin in 2024 as one of the game's top defensive minds.

The writer also notes that current Cowboys players George Pickens, Joey Porter Jr., and Broderick Jones all previously played under Tomlin in Pittsburgh. However, Warren cautions that any potential hire must depend on Tomlin presenting a strong offensive coordinator plan and addressing a playoff win drought dating back to 2016.
