Michael Gomez Jnr was held to a controversial draw in his British and Commonwealth lightweight title fight with Louie O’Doherty at London’s O2 Arena.

Michael Gomez Jnr was held to a controversial majority draw against defending champion Louie O'Doherty for the British and Commonwealth lightweight titles at London's O2 Arena. Gomez appeared in control early, using his size, power, and high work rate to push O'Doherty back throughout the majority of the rounds. However, the judges scored the contest 115-114 for Gomez alongside two matching scores of 114-114, drawing heavy boos from the crowd.
O'Doherty retained his undefeated record at 12-0-1 after rallying in the championship rounds when Gomez eased off. Gomez moved his record to 13-2-1 following the contentious decision and exited the ring immediately. On the undercard, heavyweight prospect Adam Olaniyan improved to 5-0 with a second-round stoppage win against 41-year-old Dan Garber.
