Ottawa Senators Prospect Update: A first look at the BSens

Riley Hamilton reviews the Belleville Senators' mixed start across their first seven games of the season. The AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators earned three wins against four defeats while dealing with penalty trouble and inconsistent defensive play. Standout contributors during the opening stretch included goaltender Jonas Johansson, forward Xavier Bourgault, and rookie Kasper Halttunen, who scored a hat trick in an overtime loss to the Laval Rocket.

Hamilton argues that Halttunen looks like a complete player and should be the top candidate for a call-up to Ottawa. The review also notes solid early performances from defensemen Hoyt Stanley and Djibril Touré, while backup goaltender Jackson Parsons experienced difficulties over his two starts.
