Romano confirms Manchester United studied Tagliafico this summer alongside Juventus and Atletico — but the 34-year-old World Cup winner is open to leaving Europe for Argentina.

Lyon left-back Nicolas Tagliafico has suggested he could bypass interest from Manchester United, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid in favor of returning to Argentina. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that all three clubs attempted to sign the 34-year-old during the summer window, but no permanent transfer was completed before the deadline.
Tagliafico has slipped down the pecking order under manager Paulo Fonseca at Lyon, where his contract runs until June 2027. Speaking to Clank, the defender revealed he is open to a move back to South America to be near family, despite potential European suitors planning to revisit their interest in January.
