Harvey started working as a scout under Jim Jefferies in the 90s before taking up a role in the kitroom…

Former Heart of Midlothian scout and kitman John Harvey, affectionately known as 'Swerve,' has passed away, the club confirmed in an official statement. Harvey was a well-known and popular figure around Tynecastle Park, having initially served as an opposition scout under manager Jim Jefferies during the 1990s before later transitioning into a role in the club's kit room.
Harvey had deep family connections to the Gorgie club, with his father, John Harvey Snr, having previously played for and managed Hearts between 1966 and 1970. Following the announcement, figures across Scottish football media, including former Hearts TV commentator Mark Donaldson and Guardian sportswriter Ewan Murray, paid tribute to Harvey's extensive dedication to the club.
