SF Giants waiver claim Duncan Davitt did not have the best season on the mound, but he has a cool name and side hustle that is worth celebrating.

Around the Foghorn's Nick San Miguel reviewed pitcher Duncan Davitt's 2026 season with the San Francisco Giants, noting his unique offseason journalism work alongside his pitching struggles. Claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Braves late in the year, Davitt made four pitching appearances for the Giants.
Davitt posted a 9.00 ERA across six innings for San Francisco, allowing six earned runs, two home runs, and three walks while striking out four. Off the field, the Iowa native works as a high school sports reporter during the offseason. San Miguel suggests Davitt is unlikely to remain on the Giants' 40-man roster heading into the winter.
