The New Jersey Devils are going into their game with the Colorado Avalanche healthy. Because of that, some players have to sit, including one major surprise.

The New Jersey Devils are scratching forward Amadeus Lombardi and Stefan Noesen as reinforcements return to the lineup for their matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. Head coach Sheldon Keefe had to make difficult roster decisions with forward Luke Evangelista returning from illness and Connor Brown returning from a preseason injury to make his regular-season debut.
Nick Villano notes that Lombardi's scratch is surprising given his strong start to the season, though Keefe stated Lombardi is handling the decision well. Evangelista will skate alongside Nico Hischier and Timo Meier, while Brown joins the fourth line.
