Buffalo's special teams units are producing at some of the best rates in the league, with Tyler Bass, Tommy Doman Jr, Ray Davis, Greg Dortch and Joe Andreessen all playing at an extremely high level on kicks, punts, and returns.

The Buffalo Bills entered their bye week with strong performances across their special teams units under coordinator Jeff Rodgers through the first six weeks. Kicker Tyler Bass converted all 13 of his field-goal attempts, including a 45-yard overtime game-winner against the Los Angeles Rams that followed a blocked kick by Greg Rousseau. Ray Davis led the league in kick return average at 31.0 yards per return, bolstered by a 70-yard opening return against the Rams.
Rookie punter Tommy Doman Jr. posted an NFL-best 45 net yards per punt across 12 attempts, while linebacker Joe Andreessen tallied nine special teams tackles. Following Week 5, Buffalo ranked sixth in the league in special teams EPA at +19.2, earning praise from offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who labeled the kickoff coverage unit elite.
