Key Things to Know
  • John Hartson believes Celtic forward Kasper Hogh will overcome his goal drought and regain form.
  • Hogh has failed to score in ten appearances since netting a hat-trick against Kilmarnock in August.
  • Hartson noted he also experienced a ten-game goal drought after joining Celtic for £6 million in 2001.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Celtic striker John Hartson has backed £11 million forward Kasper Hogh to overcome his recent goal drought under manager Martin O'Neill. Hogh has gone ten appearances without scoring since netting a hat-trick against Kilmarnock in August, but Hartson drew parallels to his own ten-game drought before scoring a treble against Dundee United exactly 25 years ago.

Hartson described the Danish striker as a powerhouse who still has a major role to play despite Camilo Duran starting recently against Hearts. Reflecting on his famous strike against Celta Vigo during the 2003 UEFA Cup run, Hartson also urged Celtic to kick-start their European campaign against the Spanish side after opening their group stage with consecutive defeats.
