The Story in 60 Seconds

San Diego Padres 2025 10th-round pick Justin DeCriscio is spending his autumn in the Arizona Fall League with Peoria, working to refine his offensive approach. Drafted out of NC State for a $15,000 signing bonus primarily as a defense-first shortstop, the 23-year-old climbed through three minor league levels during his first full professional season.

DeCriscio displayed defensive versatility in 2026 by playing five different positions, including all across the infield and both corner outfield spots. Despite a slow start to his AFL campaign, he recently showcased his offensive progress by hitting a three-run home run with a 102.0 mph exit velocity against Peoria.
