Shreyas Iyer believes that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi remains very young and he will get his chances in the future.

India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer stated that 15-year-old batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi cannot immediately walk into the playing eleven for the five-match T20I series against New Zealand. Iyer confirmed that India will stick with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson as their preferred opening combination due to their consistent performances.
Sooryavanshi has played eight T20Is for India, scoring 246 runs with two half-centuries at a strike rate of 186.36. Iyer noted that experiencing overseas conditions during the tour will provide valuable preparation for the teenager's future international career.
