The New York Jets can get back on track in the 2026 season if they follow these five easy steps to reinvigorate the roster and shore up key areas.

Writing for The Jet Press, Mike Luciano outlines five key adjustments the New York Jets should make to salvage their season following a competitive 2-4 start in 2026. On offense, Luciano urges head coach Frank Reich to implement a quicker passing scheme to help quarterback Geno Smith, deploy tight end Kenyon Sadiq as a vertical seam threat, and maintain a backfield timeshare for Braelon Allen alongside Breece Hall.
On defense, Luciano argues that rookie Darrell Jackson Jr. should take playing time from declining defensive tackle Harrison Phillips. Furthermore, he recommends that the front office acquire a veteran pass rusher via trade to support rookie edge rusher David Bailey, pointing to shortcomings from Will McDonald IV and Kingsley Enagbare.
