Writer Jamey Baskow argues that defenseman Oliver Bonk has earned the right to remain permanently with the Philadelphia Flyers. The 21-year-old was recalled from the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms on October 11 following injuries to Cam York and Rasmus Ristolainen. Since his promotion, Bonk has averaged roughly 20 minutes of ice time per game, often skating on the top pairing alongside Travis Sanheim.
Baskow highlights Bonk's strong underlying play and composure under pressure, noting his two assists in tough early matchups. According to Baskow, the Flyers should retain Bonk rather than send him back down when injured players return.
