Oriole fans have Rays’ rooting interest in World Series

BaltimoreBaseball.com writer Rich Dubroff observes that several Baltimore Orioles supporters are backing the Tampa Bay Rays over the Milwaukee Brewers in the upcoming World Series. The Rays feature several prominent former Orioles, including closer Bryan Baker, right-hander Tyler Wells, outfielder Cedric Mullins, and infielder Jorge Mateo. Additionally, former Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde is serving as Tampa Bay's senior advisor of baseball operations.

Baker emerged as a standout after tying for the American League lead with 41 regular-season saves before converting five postseason saves without yielding an earned run. Although Milwaukee also features former Orioles such as Joey Ortiz, DL Hall, and Gary Sánchez, Tampa Bay's high concentration of familiar faces has drawn strong rooting interest from Baltimore fans.
