The Houston Texans inadvertently helped one of their top rivals with their recent decision on Aiden Fisher.

Rookie linebacker Aiden Fisher is expected to join the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad after clearing waivers following his release by the Houston Texans. Reporter Jason Anderson revealed on October 20 that Fisher was visiting Kansas City to finalize the deal, ending Houston's hopes of re-signing him to their own practice squad after waiving him the previous Saturday.
Houston initially waived Fisher alongside rookie Collin Wright to open roster spots for returning injured veterans Henry To'oTo'o and Ja'Marcus Ingram. While Wright successfully cleared waivers and re-signed with the Texans, Fisher, a 2026 seventh-round draft pick who logged 38 special teams snaps this season, opted to join the Chiefs instead.
