A lifetime ago, Cooper Rush was operating as a part-time Vikings QB. Or, at least, he was keeping the pigskin…

Quarterback Cooper Rush has become an available option for the Minnesota Vikings after being released by the Atlanta Falcons. The move occurred as Atlanta signed veteran free-agent quarterback Andy Dalton. Vikings Territory highlights that Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell already established a working relationship with Rush when the veteran passer participated in the team's rookie minicamp earlier in the year.
Vikings Territory argues that adding Rush to the practice squad could offer proactive depth behind Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, and Max Brosmer. The writer notes that Rush's veteran experience would allow him to step in quickly if injuries deplete Minnesota's quarterback room.
