Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins has explained why head coach Joe Brady connects with players in a way that former head coach Sean McDermott, in his view, did not always manage.
Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins explained on The Rich Eisen Show why head coach Joe Brady connects more effectively with players than former head coach Sean McDermott did. Dawkins highlighted that the new generation of NFL athletes requires a different communication style, warning that failing to adapt creates a major disconnect between coaches and players.
Dawkins cited wide receiver Keon Coleman as an example, noting that interactions feel smoother under Brady compared to McDermott, who benched Coleman in 2025 for missing a meeting. Buffalo holds a 5-1 record under Brady following McDermott's departure in January 2026.
