The San Francisco 49ers have released veteran defensive tackle Naquan Jones to free up a roster spot, according to a report by Tom Pelissero. The move coincides with linebacker Dre Greenlaw returning to the roster after the NFL officially lifted his suspension following Week 6.
San Francisco also anticipates further roster adjustments as head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated wide receiver Christian Kirk is nearing a return from injured reserve. Meanwhile, receiver Mike Evans is currently managing Achilles soreness, and defensive tackle James Thompson recently returned from injury.
