Jets' Premier Wideout Leads AFC in Receptions Through 6 Weeks, Is on Pace for Personal Pass-Catching Bests…

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is off to a career-best start through six games, leading the AFC with 35 receptions for 418 yards. Despite outside calls for the Jets to target him even more, Wilson dismissed those concerns on Wednesday, stating that offensive coordinator Frank Reich and quarterback Geno Smith are handling target distribution well and that team success comes first.
Wilson holds a 72.9 percent catch rate and a 120.0 receiver rating when targeted this season. Smith highlighted the importance of involving other targets like Omar Cooper Jr. and Mason Taylor as the Jets prepare for a Week 7 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, while head coach Aaron Glenn noted wideout Adonai Mitchell could potentially return from a finger injury.
