Talladega Superspeedway Aiming For Humorous World Record

Talladega Superspeedway is organizing a unique world record attempt during its upcoming NASCAR race weekend in Alabama. Following Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series event, the venue will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Ricky Bobby, the fictional character portrayed by actor Will Ferrell in the 2006 racing comedy film "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby."

The humorous record attempt forms part of DEGA-CON, a three-day celebration celebrating the 20th anniversary of the movie at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. The broader race weekend also features postseason Chase events across three national divisions, including the NASCAR Cup Series and the Craftsman Truck Series.
