An offensive word was heard during the broadcast of Tuesday night's Wild vs. Oilers game.

The Minnesota Wild announced an investigation on Wednesday after an offensive slur was broadcast over a hot mic during Tuesday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers. The remark occurred during the second period at Rogers Place just as a referee prepared to address the arena crowd.
The Wild stated that the comment did not come from their broadcast team, labeled the language unacceptable, and expressed deep regret. On the ice, the Oilers went on to defeat the Wild 4-3 in overtime.
