Philadelphia 76ers Labeled Best Fit for LeBron James’ Former Lakers Teammate

The Philadelphia 76ers have been labeled as one of five best fits to sign free-agent sharpshooter Dalton Knecht, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel. Knecht became available after the Los Angeles Lakers waived him on Monday to trim their roster to 15 players. Philadelphia currently has an open roster spot and could look to bolster bench scoring alongside LeBron James.

Knecht, who was drafted in 2024 out of Tennessee, saw his playing time decline during the 2025-26 season after an earlier voided trade to Charlotte. Despite defensive struggles, Sullivan notes that Knecht offers high offensive upside at a low cost for Philadelphia following their 106-100 opening-night victory over the New York Knicks.
